Return to Work Issues: The Benefits of Light Duty

Presented by: Kristen B. Shingleton, M.B.A., CCP
President, New Focus HR

Are workers’ compensation claims taking a toll on your organization? Does your organization truly understand how to manage a claim? This session will educate the HR or safety professional on the different types of transitional work programs and will assist them in determining which type is “best” for each situation and/or their organization. In addition, the session will discuss why the integration with other federal laws is so important to the success of your total workers’ compensation program.

Objectives:

- Understand the definition of workers’ compensation and the importance of having a workers’ compensation policy in your organization.

- Recognize the current issues with workers’ compensation programs and recognize the rationale to change your organizations attitude.

- Realize that communication is the “key” to creating informed employees.

- Define the term “transitional work programs” while maintaining compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA).
