Indiana
State SHRM Chapter of the Year and Professional of the Year Awards
2007
The
Chapter of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding achievements
in chapter development and contributions to the advancement of effective
HR management. This year’s recipient was the Eastern Indiana
Human Resource Association. EIHRA is ranked as a small SHRM affiliated
chapter that is focused, determined, and supportive of state council
and national SHRM. The chapter has received the Superior Merit Award
for the past three years. Some of the chapter’s achievements
are: SHRM Foundation education and support, facilitated an HRCI
study group, conducted a highly successful annual management leadership
conference, conducted an employment law session, encouraged members
to bring their CEOs to a meeting regarding executive coaching, provided
program support to Workforce Economic Development and Work One,
conducted interview process training for high school students, and
established relationships with local media promoting the chapter,

Dianne
Chandler, SPHR is named Professional of the Year
The Award for
Professional Excellence recognizes an individual who applies creative
management concepts to improve performance, advance the profession,
and promote the understanding of HR Management. Dianne is certified
as a Senior Professional in HR and a Certified Compensation Professional.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English. She has worked in the HR
field for 21 years and is currently the Director of Human Resources
and Payroll for Indiana University East. She was the co-founder
and facilitator of PATH, Promoting Access to Healthcare, an initiative
to increase the participation of Richmond area doctors in the Anthem
health networks. She has served on the Eastern Indiana Human Resources
Association over the past 12 years where she has been the Certification
Director, Management Leadership Conference Committee, Scholarship
Committee, and Nominating Committee. She also serves the local community
through her involvement with the Girl Scouts, Ball State University,
National Trail Local Schools, the United Way of the Whitewater Valley,
YWCA Personnel Committee, and many others.
